The Mars Volta - Eriatarka (♫)

This is like... a masterpiece. The Mars Volta are easily the best musicians out just now. I found some people were struggling with the lyrics, so here you go! ----------------------------- And there are those who Hadn't found the speaking so wrong Is it wrong Of Pavlov lore They ran rampant through the floors Is this wrong Feels so wrong Happened on a respirator In the basements Are they gone are they gone Stung the slang of a gallows bird Rationed a dead letter pure Trackmarked amoeba lands craft Cartwheel of scratches Dress the tapeworm as pet Tentacles smirk please Flinched the cocooned meat Infra-recon forgets Now there are those who find Comfort in the breathing Wrong-is it wrong It houses the watchful eyes They're panting in a pattern in droves Are they gone Happened on a respirator BET In the basements Is it gone Are they gone Stung the slang of a gallows bird Sanctioned a dead letter pure trackmarked amoeba lands craft cartwheel of scratches dress the tape worm as pets tentacles smirk please flinch the cacooned meat infra-recon forgets evaporated the fur because it covers them if you only knew the plans they had for us evaporated the fur because it covers them if you only knew the plans they had for us They used to have pulses in them But impulse has made them strong They used to have ...

The Mars Volta - Cassandra Gemini

Album: Frances the Mute (2005) Genre: Heavy Prog Note: I used the vinyl version of this track to make this clip. That's because all the digital copies contain some very annoying pops and clicks in a few parts of the song which sound like damaged CD surface (this was probably a manufacturing error). However, as Cassandra Gemini is split into two parts on the vinyl (about 15 minutes on each side of the record) I had to use the middle bit from CD to seamlessly join these two parts into one (yes, there are actually a few seconds of material missing on the vinyl as each side ends with some kind of loop). Anyway, here you have the final product (Vinyl+CD patch as I call it) which should be perfect from start to end. Enjoy!

Lyrics: Do you recall it's name As it suggested beck and call This face and heel Will drag your halo through the mud Ash of Pompeii Erupting in a statues dust Shrouded in veils Because these handcuffs hurt to much Still scalping these ticketless applause And when they drag the lake there is nothing left at all Sutured contusion Beyond the anthills of the dawning of this plague Said I've lost my way Even if this cul de sac would pay To reach inside a vault whatever be the cost Sterling clear Blackened ice When they drag the lake there's nothing left at all I've defected x4] Sutured contusion Beyond the anthills of the dawning of this plague Said I've lost my way Even if this cul de sac did pay To reach inside a vault whatever be the cost Sterling clear Blackened ice When they drag the lake there's nothing left at all I've defected x4] Beyond the anthills of the dawning of this plague Said I've lost my way Even if this cul de sac did pay Beyond the anthills of, beyond the anthills of said I've lost my way Even if you, even if you, even if you reach inside a vault whatever be the cost Sterling clear Blackened ice When they drag the lake there's nothing left at all I've defected [x4]

The Mars Volta Medley Drum Cover - Jon Theodore by STAN BICKNELL

*Here is my 10min Meshuggah Medley- www.youtube.com This was filmed and recorded as one continuous, single take with no editing to the videos or drums in post production. I put this medley together to show my interpretation of some of my favorite Jon Theodore/The Mars Volta moments. I am not claiming these to be his or The Mars Volta's most challenging parts, they are just some of my favourites from my favourite Volta drummer. I did this solely to challenge myself. Once I had chosen the grooves I wanted I arranged them using Ableton Live. The only changes I made to the arrangement was to shorten double chorus's that led into sections I wanted to use. I was aiming for flow, groove and climax with the arrangement. It was important to me that all the parts worked together and I kept it at 10mins in length. I did not make any changes to song tempos. I committed the whole medley to memory and learnt it all by ear. I do not transcribe. I played along to the medley only in my in-ears with no click track except at 8:27 where the drums stop momentarily. The details of the tracks are: 0:00 'Roulette Dares' - De-Loused in the Comatorium (0:00-0:41, 1:58-3:00) 1:42 'Inertiatic ESP' - De-Loused in the Comatorium (2:06-2:35) 2:12 'Eriatarka' - De-Loused in the Comatorium (3:09-3:14, 3:26-3:50, 4:02-4:08) 2:48 'Drunkship of Lanterns' - De-Loused in the Comatorium (1:52-2:44) 3:40 'Take the Veil Cerpin Taxt' - De-Loused in the Comatorium (0:07-0:28, 4:11-4:40, 4:51-4:58) 4:37 'Cicatriz ...

Televators - The Mars Volta (Cover)

John & Lindsey cover The Mars Volta's "Televators" from their album "Deloused in the Comatorium." Just as he hit The ground They lowered a tow that Stuck in his neck to the gills Fragments of sobriquets riddle me this three half eaten corneas who hit the aureole Stalk the ground Stalk the ground You should have seen The curse that flew right by you Page of concrete Sting walks crutch in hobbled sway Auto-da-fé A capillary hint of red Only this manupod Crescent in shape has escaped The house half the way Fell empty with teeth That split both his lips Mark these words One day this chalk outline will circle this city Was he robbed of the asphalt that cushioned his face A room colored charlatan Hid in a safe Stalk the ground Stalk the ground You should have seen The curse that flew right by you Page of concrete Sting walks crutch in hobbled sway Auto-da-fé A capillary hint of red Only this manupod Crescent in shape has escaped Pull the pins Save your grace Mark these words On his grave [x3] You should have seen The curse that flew right by you Page of concrete Sting walks crutch in hobbled sway Auto-da-fé A capillary hint of red Everyone knows the last toes are Always the coldest to go
