This video shows how easy it is to use the Marcato cookie/biscuit press. It comes pre-packaged with different cookie patterns. Here, we are demonstrating the heart-shaped pattern for Valentine's Day. Ingredients- 1.5 Cups of butter (3 sticks) softened to room temperature 1 Cup of sugar 1 Egg 1 Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract 3.5 Cups of All-Purpose Flour Colored Sugar or sprinkles to decorate with (optional) 1 Preheat oven to 375*F. Using an electric mixer on medium speed, beat butter until creamy. Add sugar, vanilla and egg. Mix thoroughly. Add 1 cup of flour at a time and mix thoroughly. Dough will be soft. Do not chill dough. 2. Fill cookie press according to the manufacturer's directions. Press cookies onto cool, ungreased cookie sheets. Dough will not stick to warm cookie sheets. Decorate with colored sugar or sprinkles before baking (optional) 3. Bake cookies for 10~12 minutes or until firm but not brown. Cool 2~3 minutes on the cookie sheet before transferring the cookies to a cooling rack. This recipe makes great tasting cookies however, feel free to experiment. The assignment was to write a 2 minute piece for full orchestra. I was working at Interplay at the time and was putting together a trailer for the game I was producing and designing, a trainer to be shown at the company Christmas party, and then to be featured in the upcoming season of video game trade shows. I figured I'd use my class project to score the trailer and kill two birds with one stone. I never asked Interplay to reimburse me for the orchestra costs because I was doing the piece as part of my film scoring training at UCLA. We had roughly 15 minutes to record this piece. As was regular practice in this course, students had to write, score, orchestrate, transpose for all the non-C instruments, write out each chart, and conduct the orchestra. I was writing charts all night and until the morning of the recording. We used union players and recorded in the local union hall studio. And because we were students, we got a break on the cost. But it still was an expensive 15 minutes. I'd already storyboarded an animatic that showed the order of the scenes and rough timing, but I didn't have enough time to create a midi mockup of the music to lock down timing. So the music I composed had timings that worked musically, and if they worked with the final rendered video without a lot of video editing, it would dumb luck. This is the video that got me detained and removed from the store! These are the very nice and HISTORIC elevators here, that go to the basement (LL), the street level (1), and levels 8 and 9. There is a cabinet that has the buttons for floors 2-7 inside, but it is locked, however it should take the NYC Fire Service key (1620/2642) since that panel probably is required to be accessed by firefighters in case of an emergency. I have no clue where these open up on floors 2-7. These were originally Gurney, a rare older NYC local brand, but these were modernized with Monitor TR fixtures. There are 3 elevators next to these that are still manually-controlled original Gurney with the manual control crank/lever and awesome vintage cabs, but they are hard to sneak on since they are open on floor 1 and these elevators are next to security on 1. Also, the original elevator on the left is behind a door on 1, but the other two are out in the open. For whatever reason, they chose to only modernize two, and most everything was replaced, cabs, fixtures, doors, everything. As you can see in this video, some dude (possibly undercover security) got all mad because I got him in my video. I tell him that I am sorry and would edit him out of the video.
