One of the greatest rock songs of all time, its signature sound is a repeating guitar arpeggio that is played at the beginning and end of the song. I made this recording using 'Rich Strings' at the beginning, and then a combination of 'Mid Tone Guitar' and 'Grand Piano' for the rest of the song. I also love the song's lyrics! Bono was inspired to write them by the notion that it's possible to identify a person's religion by the street on which they lived, particularly in Belfast, and also their income depending upon the part of the street. As Bono said in a 1987 interview: "I often feel very claustrophobic in a city, a feeling of wanting to break out of that city and a feeling of wanting to go somewhere where the values of the city and the values of our society don't hold you down.
