The YAMAHA Disklavier piano's tone generation system completes the additional backgrounds via 16-channels of MIDI to complete the rest of the song. Note that special codes can move the keys on the Disklavier without generating sounds like normal notes played on the player piano, allowing for these fun patterns and effects on the keyboard. This is one of many arrangements Craig Knudsen played at Universal Studios as part of a live music performance exhibit in the park for over 40000 people per day, just outside of the Star Trek Exhibit, during the 1990's.
