Ever spectated a game only to wonder what must be going through the player's mind? Well this is sort of like that. I hope that this provides you with some useful insight. This is an old video I have which came out not long after the UT2004 demo came out. Everyone always wondered if it was possible to lift the Goliath (tank) and put it at the top of the center tower in ONS-Torlan.

A few Necris vehicles, new to the Unreal series are also shown (and promptly killed!). I used the highest settings and recorded with FRAPS at 1600x1200 at 30fps. My playing is a whole Torlan (T32 version) game. At startin of match i was so quite and calm with the nice electro/house music, and then the game makes me so hot. Finaly at the end I was so angry!

This modified version of Torlan, combined with the Weapons of Evil mod translated into unpleasant, unbalanced, and particularly brutal game play on the USO server. So that's the last one for a certain time! "Torlan Necris" is not more difficult than "Torlan" and so an easy to take step out of the warfare matches. I hope that I could help you a bit and I would be very happy about some positive feedbacks. Music for this map is some ultra-brutal shit by the Brutal Death Metal masters Unmerciful! Hallo to all gamers! What you can see here is the second last map of the warfare maps and also a quite tricky one as there is one well hidden shield belt. I managed to get it myself by accident... I was just fighting in the sky with my raptor when I flew over the tower on which the belt lies. So that's the difficult part of "Torlan". UT2004 Torlan Cicada Match Onslaught The Element Seed

I think this might be the PHX server. A quick win for Blue. I follow my typical strategy of trying to keep the prime node nailed down as much as possible (a nice, conservative strategy, which seems to work well enough for me, as long as the whole team doesn't isn't doing it...) And of course not being too picky about who I shoot at. Following my comic attempt to provide something like "covering fire" at long range for teammates trying to take the center node, I get to swoop right in there to the enemy's prime. Which is pretty much the main idea here. Sorry about the music I stuck in there towards the end (DIY Meat by the Fall if you want to know). Had to cover some silence, as the capture pc's sound cut out on me again in the last few minutes. I checked and sure enough the disk was thoroughly fragged up. Apparently it frags up really quick when I'm recording these huge, uncompressed AVI files all over the place.

Yes Torlan again. This was one of those really long matches where the team mostly just barely avoids losing prime, then suddenly reverses the whole map and wins. This one went nearly half an hour, and I'd post the entire thing if Youtube would let me.

How to get out of the map in Torlan! Plus a Islander glitch. Steps: 1. Get a raptor. 2. Move to the wall as per the video. 3. Hold left, and move upwards in raptor. 4. eject just after the raptor has reached the highest position 5. Enjoy Advisable to get the boots and health to survive the drop to the land. It may take a few attempts. But the results are worth it. Note: Islander spoiler at 4:04 Music = Presets - My People Evanescence - Everybody's Fool

Kept this one mainly because I get to tow an orb carrier with the raptor, something I rarely bother with. It's a great attack. But there's only 1 raptor, and it's very popular. So you can't often expect it's going to be available when you need it. Then the orb has to be there of course, and there has to be some fool handy who's willing to carry it. But it is a great attack. Note how primary means of communication consist of shooting people to get their attention

Ran to prime right away as usual, and good thing I did this time. Feel like I contributed pretty good there. Rest of the map got taken pretty quick after that, while I was trying to place the SPMA. I'm not saying running straight to prime is the thing to do on Torlan. It's just what I tend to do. Obviously somebody has to go after the intermediate nodes and enemy prime.

I don't get to play Torlan Necris too often. This server was populated with a few random players unfamiliar to me, and a couple bots. It wasn't a huge challenge, but the match turned out to be fun. All the players were making good efforts, and I thought I was playing pretty well.

It's been a while since I last played UT2004. I completely forgot about it, and played just UT3 mostly. Now, anytime the UT3 servers I usually play on are empty... hop on UT2k4 :) . There are always people on the UMGLeague server, quite nice folks, for that matter. No lag, no stuttering. I could record it in full resolution on my monitor, but meh... better 1280x720 than 1440x900.

This was a long session, one of those games that really goes back and forth a few times. I was sure Red was about to lose, at least three seperate times before the end. But there was a comeback. A couple of comebacks. I enjoyed this session so much I made two clips of it, showing the last ten minutes of the match. This is the first one. I'll put the concluding one up tonight or tomorrow. This is why I play this game.

Another match from yesterday. Forgot about this one. It's actually pretty good. Yeah I could probably just about retire in front of the prime node. Just zip around in a Scorpion forever. There's always some wiseacre trying something though. Look at this guy using Berserk to attack the node from under cover for example. What the heck. And the SPMA. Somebody ought to do something.
