So what you should do is start with a bodyweight warmup circuit to start, which may include squats, pushups and possibly an abdominal exercise. Skip the treadmill because that's a waste of your time. From there you'll want to move into strength training supersets, using something like a chest exercise and a rowing exercise and pairing them back to back. By doing a superset, it allows you to get more work done, in less time. Another great superset is a dumbbell squat or split squat for the lower body, and pairing that with a dumbbell shoulder press for your upper body. This allows one muscle group to rest while the other is working, enabling you to work harder throughout. This way you've worked you're entire body with just two supersets and a warmup in only 20 minutes. To finish off, add in some form of interval training to burn even more fat. Repeat the following sequence 4x through, then do a fast mile on the treadmill and finish with 2 min walk and stretching. All told, should take you about 45 mins. A 20 lb kettlebell is ideal, as are 8lb weights. Pop on your favourite music, grab a yoga mat and join in! Enjoy a total body workout binding yoga, Pilates and body conditioning that you can do at home! Follow the exercises and repeat to a point of fatigue (ie: if you can go for longer than me - do so!). Listen to the progressions if you're sturggling with one of the positions, or drop me a comment if you'd like a harder/easier option :) I would advise doing a gentle cardio warmup (brisk walking, running, cycling etc) to get the most out of these exercises, and the same goes for afterwards to avoid your body temperature dropping too quickly after. As with all exercise, do take care if you are ill or injured (or rest instead!) and please do not attempt these exercises if you are pregnant, have had a baby within the last 6 weeks or have any serious neck or spine issues.
