I bought this touchpad (16gb) at best buy. The touchpad is running android 2.2.1 out of the box. The product seems to be a test version from the qualcomm innovation center, since the center logo is shown when you turn the touchpad on. The video shows me walking through the developer tools and the web browser. I cannot find a way to get the android market, or download any android applications onto the device.

Hey Internet-- Here is some (older) touchpad progress from Friday. The Cyanogenmod team wanted to share it with the public to bring attention to our need for a few more touchpads (for developers currently working without them). As you can see from this quick demo, we've been working hard and have made progress. Since this video was created last week, the build has been more "tabletized" (tablet tweaks added, etc.), lvm support has been added. The touchscreen driver issue is now the focus of our attention. Our ultimate vision is to create a *multiboot* solution where the end user will be able to boot into WebOS, Cyanogenmod, and/or other OSes. This appears to be very possible, and we have discussed several potential implementations with our new friends in the WebOS development community to make it easy for an end-user to set up. For the moment though, we need about 4 tablets, as we have talented and experienced developers who cannot contribute effectively due to a lack of hardware. If you have an extra touchpad and are willing to help the cause, please let us know in the comments below. A BIG CAVEAT-- PLEASE DO NOT ASK FOR ETAS. For the uninitiated, this is the #1 rule for Cyanogenmod. It will certainly be a long while before our goals become reality. Our goals incidentally are not connected with any bounty-- we are motivated to do it right, not do it fast. This has been a good week. Yesterday I used my telescope for the first time (which actually I'm probably going to go use again after I type this description) and today Android was "officially" "unofficially" released by the CyanogenMod guys for the HP TouchPad! In August TONS of people bought up the touchpads from HP at a HUGE discount since they were discontinuing them a month after it was released, many (like myself) in hopes that android would be ported over. Today a very alpha, but mostly working version has been released! If you are interested in trying it out do fully read the instructions before trying it and be aware you may brick your touchpad but the actual install procedure is actually quite easy. I'm using the app "SuperNES" by dtzTech from HP App Catalog. It doesn't include ROMS but it's up to you to find them on the internet. Got mine from coolrom.com. ROMS have to be in *.smc format. Connect Touchpad to your computer via USB and save them on your touchpad under the /SNES/ROMS directory that the app creates when you install it.
