Janie Jones - Official Trailer US - Tribeca Film

Official Facebook page: www.facebook.com Opens theatrically on October 28, 2011 in select cities, as well nationally on cable VOD, iTunes, Amazon Watch Instantly and Vudu. A faded rock star is forced to take responsibility for the daughter he never knew he had in JANIE JONES, a funny and touching road trip through the world of rock 'n' roll from writer-director David M. Rosenthal (Falling Up), inspired by his own experiences. Rocker Ethan Brand (Alessandro Nivola) and his band, the Ethan Brand Experience, are on the comeback trail when a former flame (Oscar® nominee Elisabeth Shue) drops a bomb in his lap—their 13-year-old daughter, Janie Jones (Abigail Breslin). Ethan refuses to believe Janie is his kid, but when her mom suddenly leaves for rehab, the child has no place to go but with the band. With no inclination toward fatherhood, Ethan continues his hard-living ways, leaving Janie to fend for herself in the dive bars and sleazy motels along the way. As his drug- and booze-fueled antics take their toll on and off stage, the band deserts him one by one, until he and Janie are left alone. Desperate to finish the tour and revive his career, Ethan stays on the road as a solo act with Janie in tow. As Ethan's self-destructive spiral threatens to derail his comeback, Janie uses her own surprising musical talents to help guide him down the rocky road to redemption. Jiro Dreams of Sushi Trailer

An appetizing documentary in every sense, Jiro Dreams of Sushi follows 85-year-old master sushi chef Jiro Ono, owner of the esteemed 10-seat, $300-a-plate Sukiyabashi Jiro restraurant in Tokyo. From the ins and outs of the tuna auction to the proper way to massage an octopus, director David Gelb dynamically profiles all aspects of the craft in mouthwatering style and detail, paying lushly photographed homage to the process of preparing the artisan sushi that earned Jiro an elite three Michelin stars. Beyond its cinematic celebration of the art of sushi, Jiro is also a film fundamentally about family, tradition, and the value of hard work. The complicated relationship between the master and Yoshikazu, his son and heir apparent, is a story of legacy, succession, and intergenerational tension—universal themes that transcend the specificity of their epicurean world. This emotionally resonant study of a son living in his father's shadow is couched in an operatic spectacle of some of the world's preeminent chefs at work, making Jiro a tasty treat that will satisfy all viewers' cinematic cravings.

The Bang Bang Club OFFICIAL US TRAILER

www.thebangbangclub.com The Bang Bang Club is the real life story of a group of four young combat photographers - Greg Marinovich, Joao Silva, Kevin Carter and Ken Oosterbroek - bonded by friendship and their sense of purpose to tell the truth. They risked their lives and used their camera lenses to tell the world of the brutality and violence associated with the first free elections in post Apartheid South Africa in the early 90s. This intense political period brought out their best work—two won Pulitzers during the period—but cost them a heavy price. Based on the book of the same name by Marinovich and Silva, the film stars Ryan Phillippe, Malin Akerman and Taylor Kitsch and explores the thrill, danger and moral questions associated with exposing the truth.

Lola trailer

Two elderly matriarchs bear the consequences of a crime involving their grandsons: One is murdered, the other is the suspect. As the intense financial strains of a burial and legal case weigh on both women, they individually traipse around the prisons, funeral homes, and courtrooms of Manila amidst torrents of rain, while simultaneously struggling to maintain their families' lives in the makeshift shacks built along the city's rising waterways. Face-to-face with each other, they work together to reach a common, if compromised, resolution. Capturing the desperate and frantically beautiful texture of the urban Manila landscape, Lola confirms the depth and range of Filipino director Brillante Mendoza's vision. Anita Linda and Rustica Carpio deliver incisive performances as the two determined leads in writer Linda Casimiro's penetrating critique of the criminal justice system, its accompanying bureaucracy, and the incomplete quest for justice and reconciliation. Shut Up Little Man - OFFICIAL TRAILER US

Official Website: www.shutuplittlemanfilm.com Facebook www.facebook.com In 1987, Eddie and Mitch moved into a low-rent apartment in San Francisco where, through paper-thin walls, they were informally introduced to their middle-aged alcoholic neighbors, Raymond (a raging homophobe) and Peter (a flamboyant gay man). For 18 months, they hung a microphone from their kitchen window to chronicle the bizarre relationship between their borderline-insane neighbors, accidentally creating one of the world's first "viral" counter-culture sensations on the underground tape market. Revisiting these events through interviews and reenactments with the key players in the phenomenon's development, director Matthew Bate has concocted a darkly comic exploration into the blurred boundaries between art and exploitation.
