GOTYE SOMEBODY THAT I USED TO KNOW BY TWO KIDS IN A CAR
Two six year old friends who love the song "somebody that I used to know" by GOTYE make a music video... The two children in the video are my girlfriend's son and his friend. A couple of months ago, they saw the GOTYE music video for SOMEBODY THAT I USED TO KNOW and fell in love with it. When they rode in the car together, they would request it constantly and loved singing it. We joked about making a video for the song and the children loved the idea. One day, I set up a camera behind my seat and when they got in the car, they saw the camera and got really excited. We filmed it over a few car rides and then I edited it together. After an introduction by the wolf, the plot follows closely to the story of the three little pigs. The first pig erects a wire structure, then quickly bushels hay over the structure for the house. The second pig uses hundreds of matches to make up his house. The third pig goes through the tedious task of laying bricks for his house. After the first two pigs have quickly finished their houses, they start dancing around and laughing with each other. The wolf dresses as a gypsy and temporarily fools the pigs, but soon drops the disguise and chases them to their respective houses. With the straw house, the wolf uses a lit match to burn the house, and with the match house, he drops a solitary match on the roof, causing the house to collapse. Once the first two pigs join the third pig in his brick house, the wolf again dresses up - this time as a homeless woman playing a violin, while it's snowing outside (the 'snow' actually talcum powder held above the wolf's head on a stick). The first two pigs have pity on the wolf, and despite the third pig blocking the door, the two other pigs let the wolf in. When the wolf continues to play the violin, the third pig sees that the wolf has a record player hidden behind him. The third pig switches to the other side of the record, putting on a fast-paced dance. The wolf dances to this new tune, but loses his costume as a result. Karen's sweet voice singing the sweetest Christmas song. Richard Carpenter composed the music for this song in 1966 when he was 19 years old. Frank Pooler wrote the lyrics twenty years earlier, in 1946, when he also was only 19 years old. The song Pooler had written was to be a Christmas gift for his girlriend, whom he was missing while being away from her during a visit with his parents at Christmas time. Sadly, their relationship ended before he could present it to her. Twenty years later, Pooler was the choir director at California State University in Long Beach, when both Karen and Richard Carpenter were members of the choir. Richard and Karen were performing locally and had tired of playing the usual Christmas fare. Richard asked Pooler, their favorite professor, if he had any ideas for different songs. Pooler remembered the Christmas song he had written many years before and mentioned it to Richard, adding that he didn't think much of the melody anymore. Richard said he would try his hand at writing new music for the lyrics. Within about 15 minutes he was finished creating a song, written by two teenagers who were a generation apart, that was destined to become a Christmas classic. The song was first released as a single (yes, a 45) on November 20,1970, and earned gold record status. This song sparked the idea of a Christmas album by The Carpenters, and on October 13, 1978, "Christmas Portrait" was released with this newly recorded version of the song. Karen re <b>...</b>

Play That Funky Music - Wild Cherry (1976)
"Play That Funky Music" was a funk rock disco song recorded by the rock band Wild Cherry and written by lead vocalist and guitarist Robert Parissi. The song hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 on September 18, 1976 and was also number one on the Hot Soul Singles chart. The single was certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America for shipments of over two million records. The autobiographical song was inspired by the times, and the song's unforgettable title and chorus came from drummer Ron Beitle's observation during a break between sets at the 2001 Club in Pittsburgh. The group was mostly a hard rock outfit, but the disco era was really gaining steam and many of the group's loyal followers were asking for more dance songs. While taking a break between sets, Ron uttered the now-classic line, "Play some funky music, white boy". Lead singer Robert Parissi decided they should, and wrote down the phrase on a bar order pad.
