After fighting with the installation of a larger turbo (B/W Airwerks S510/91mm), trying to find a way to quickly spool this monsterous sucker with an automatic transmission and a tight torque converter (in this paricular test, a 2800 rpm torque converter stall speed), we finally stumbled across a very interesting tuning discovery. We've always used nitrous to help quickly spool whatever turbo was on the car, but this is something different. This is more than just simply injecting nitrous. This video shows the point where we had become aware that we had discovered a new type of turbo ALS (anti lag system) that we ended up developing further to become the Nitrous/Methanol Drag Turbo Anti Lag System with Afterburner Augmentation. Probably the most significant advancement of drag turbo anti lag technology in the past decade, not to mention the advancement of the use of nitrous with methyl alcohol (methanol) fuel. Our spool assist valve was not used in these tests. Through special engine configuration and tuning settings, oxygen is chemically passed to the exhaust system without the need of having to cut the ignition to any of the cylinders, thereby providing a simple, ULTRA smooth and quiet turbocharger anti lag, or quick spooling system. This turns out to be even more effective than just using nitrous injection in the more traditional manner to spool the turbo. This allows a small engine using a nitrous/methanol mix to spool a large efficient turbo with a turbine side that ...
