Piratejenny25 ask me if I would make a video to this song about Spock and Uhura. It took me a while to get the song and then the time to just sit down a make it. Two weeks later I was able to do so. I hope Piratejenny25 likes it since its still with the remix a slow song. The lyrics are good though the whole thing about not feeling and beautiful fit Spock quite well. So really its about how beautiful Spock is but it could also mean how beautiful Uhura is too Spock but that he doesn't realize how beautiful she thinks he is either. So the plot thickens... I literally cannot stop vidding Star Trek. XD. Originally the Scar-Jo clips I had were going to be used for a Kirk/Rand video, one thing led to another and this was created. I had to swap from song to song, which were actually quite dark songs - but I thought this suited Christine's pov of more. This vid was created in a mad creative editing moment and I had alot of fun making it. :) I'm not fully happy with this vid, there's a glitch in it that annoys me every time I watch it. I would redo it, but my editor seems to be tired out. I have changed my choice for Chapel, I liked the look of Scarlett (as I imagine the young Chapel with the long blonde hair tied back, the white outfit etc. The clips I had available portrayed her in a deeper emotional state when it came to connecting with Mr Spock, also with her personality alone). XD. This vid shows the struggle with Christine's crush on Mr Spock as she notices that he is in love with Uhura. As things begin to clash between the two and Christine's feelings start to fade, however it is different this time around for Mr Spock... *Note: When the singers says, "Emergency stop!" Uhura pushes the button in the turbolift scene right on cue! I didn't even notice that until I watched it back. Also, if you don't like my casting choice for the reboot version of Christine, there's nothing I can do. I don't want any, 'the woman you chose sucks!' Love triangles are not happy scenrios. People are rarely going to be understanding and accepting, and more so feeling bitter and wronged. Especially when you begin to notice things, small things that would have passed you by before, like a gaze that lingers too long or a hand that rests where it shouldn't naturally be. You lie to yourself, little by little, before you confront the accused and find yourself left out in the cold. I tried to given a "human" feel to this video (it is based on something I witnessed in real life-so damn messy) and make it empathic to all characters involved, specially Uhura, as it is done from her prespective. Not a happy video.

Clips from (a dubiously obtained) Star Trek (2009) set to "Standing Next to Me" by The Last Shadow Puppets. This video was intentioned to be about Spock getting Uhura and Kirk being jealous, and then, beyond my control, somehow it became that Spock decided to leave her for Kirk anyway (okay, maybe that was partially my doing). LOL. Also, near the end I start using really long clips without much cutting, but this is only partly due to laziness; I also enjoyed some of the longer single-shots, as they are reminiscent of Richard Ayoade's music video for the song itself (one of my directorial heroes).
