Since being imprisoned for seven years for abuse of power last October, Tymoshenko's lawyers say she has been gravely ill and complained of poor living conditions in the jail. Our cameras were shown rooms said to be typical of the penitentiary and we were also given a tour of the prison's workshop. "Sanitary and everyday life is not so bad here, but it's better not to be here," one inmate told us. The European Court of Human Rights on Friday called on Ukraine to release Tymoshenko for medical treatment. Prison authorities say their facilities are more than adequate for dealing with the debilitating and painful back problem she alleges to be suffering from. However, Sergei Vlasenko, her chief defence lawyer, completly disagrees: "I don't know what they showed you or how they've decorated, but yesterday I saw prisoners cleaning with their toothbrushes. It reminded me of my service in the Soviet Army." Kiev is the capital of the Ukraine and, as with Rome, is built on seven hills. It is dominated by many churches and monasteries. Roman Zabzaliuk, a member of Tymoshenko's opposition party, went undercover to prove a network of bribery and blackmail at the heart of government. Kievo Pecherska Lavra is one of the oldest, most important and largest monastery complexes of the Russian Orthodox Church. The Holy Gate of the Trinity-Gate-Church is the main entrance into Kiev's cave monastery. It features Ukrainian Baroque architecture with stucco work and numerous icons. Gate churches were typical of Kiev Rus' and also served as watchtowers for fortified walls. Later, great artists were employed to add further embellishments. However, the history of the monastery began quite modestly. Revered monk, Antonius, lived for many years in a monastery on the Holy Mountain of Athos in Greece. He subsequently returned to his home country and lived as a hermit for the rest of his life within a cave on the banks of the River Dnjepr. Further monks followed and a community of hermits was formed that lived under monastic rule and they lived in caves until construction of the eventual monastery. The monks dug corridors and niches in the soft limestone and created a subterranean system of cave churches and cells. Some of the monks have been mummified. That is why during the Middle Ages the caves were said to be a wonder of the world and the mummies were thought to possess special healing powers. During the 1000 Year Festival of the Christianisation of Russia in 1988, the monastery once again became a place of pilgrimage for its Orthodox faithful.

These strange sounds were heard in the Ukraine on August 11, 2011. They sound like trumpets being blown. They were so loud that it shook the windows and walls of the buildings. It just seem unusual to say the least. These sound could very well be the signs of the times being fulfilled. At this time Hitler agreed to a general withdrawal to the Dnieper line, along which was meant to be the Ostwall, a line of defence similar to the Westwall of fortifications along the German frontier in the west.
