Walt Disney - Ferdinand The Bull - 1938
This Oscar-winning short tells of a bull who preferred to sit under trees and smell flowers to clashing horns with his fellow animals. As luck would have it, an untimely bee reveals Ferdinand's ferocious side via pained howls and wild stomping. This lands him in the bull-fighting arena amidst characters based on Walt's animators with a matador reportedly modeled after Walt himself.

Adapted from Ellis Parker Butler's story, this is one of the oddest shorts on the set, but it is certainly entertaining with its fast-paced, rhyming Irish-jig-like music.

Walt Disney - In The Bag - 1956
Exactly three months after headlining a short, Humphrey returned for another Cinemascope outing with Ranger Woodlore. Here at the promise of a warm cooked meal, the large and likable one, along with his fellow brown bears, pick up litter from the park according to a grid that the Ranger has made. Many have fond memories of this cartoon, with good reason. It's a delightful little piece, with catchy music, funny twists, plenty of butt-bumping, and even a cameo by Smokey Bear.

One of the greatest animated shorts EVER!!! If you aspire to be an animator, you must watch and study this film. Here's some general foreground of this film. During this time, Walt was very busy making Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. However, in order to create special effects in Snow White in the way Walt envisioned them, the animators had to run tests. They had to see if these effects were even possible and they wanted to see the audiences reactions. Walt wanted Snow White to be as lifelike as possible so the audience would observe the movie as a live action film rather then a cartoon. Unfortunately, animation is in 2D so Walt and his staff came up with a solution called "The Multiplane Camera" which gave animation a 3D effect. Different uses of lightning, color, and realism in animals was experimented in this film. Walt won an Oscar for this film and totally deserved it. Walter Williams' PBS documentary Good Intentions based on his book, The State Against Blacks (1982). The documentary was very controversial at the time it was released and led to many animosities and even threats of murder. In Good Intentions, Dr. Williams examines the failure of the war on poverty and the devastating effect of well meaning government policies on blacks asserting that the state harms people in the US more than it helps them. He shows how government anti-poverty programs have often locked people into poverty making the points that: - being forced to attend 3rd rate public schools leave students unprepared for working life - minimum wages prevent young people from obtaining jobs at an early age - licensing and labor laws have had the effect of restricting entrance of blacks into the skilled trades and unions - the welfare system creates perverse incentives for the poor to make bad choices they otherwise would not Dr. Williams presents the following solutions to these problems: Failing Public Schools - Give parents greater control over their children's education by setting up a tuition tax credit or voucher system to broaden competition in turn revitalizing both public and non-public schools Minimum Wages - Remove the minimum wage from youngsters to give more young people the chance to learn the world of work at an early age instead spending their free time idle an possibly falling into the habits of the street Restrictive Labor Laws, Jobs Programs <b>...</b>

In this movie you will hear me performing the voice overs for Clopin, Judge Claude Frollo, Quasimodo, Phoebus, the Gargoyles: Victor, Hugo, and Laverne. It tells the story of Amos, a poor mouse (voiced by -- who else? -- Sterling Holloway), who is truly responsible for all of Benjamin Franklin's innovations in the 1740s, from the bifocals to the printing press, from the lightning rod to the furnace stove. Their relationship is electric, but rewarding (at least for Franklin). Years later, Amos reunites with Franklin to help America frame the Constitution. Sure, this entirely robs one of the most revered founding fathers of his agency, but it's all in good fun and it's a charming, clever little tale.
