Killing Joke 'We Have Joy' Bass

This track is from Killing Joke's 1982 album 'Revelations'. Yes, I can certainly say that this album shook a few folks up, wow, bring it on! Youth Glover on bass, although Paul Raven joined KJ shortly after. At certain points in this tune its like some insane waltz is going on. I'm just glad you can't hear me singing, lol. Here's hoping I got the mix and sync done properly. Thanks for watching, -Billy

USTC360 No31 Bilingual Education

Ginger: Welcome to US Tzu Chi 360. I'm Ginger Chang. Our feature today focuses on bilingual education in America. Simply put, bilingual education means the use of any two languages in school by the faculty and students. We have, Joy Zhao, a bilingual teacher from New Jersey. Welcome Joy, I'm curious to first find out, why did you become a bilingual teacher? Joy Zhao: I love being a teacher. It's my passion and it's in my blood. My mother was a kindergarten teacher for over 30 years. I have a Master's degree in elementary education and now my daughter wants to be a teacher too. Ginger: That's so cute, so she wants to continue the family line of teaching. Well, on that note, let's go meet Ava and Ella whose parents believe Tzu Chi's Great Love preschool and elementary school has provided the well-rounded and perfect educational environment for their daughters. In our next segment Footprints, we meet Anne Yang. When Anne immigrated to the US, she was very homesick and missed her close family and friends. But since she began volunteering in Tzu Chi, the longing for kinship and familiarity has been fulfilled.

USTC360 No45 Milestone of Happy Campus Program in SF

Welcome to US Tzu Chi 360. I am Ginger Chang. Today we follow up on Tzu Chi's Happy Campus program in San Francisco. Over the past six years, our volunteers have realized that there isn't a one size that fits all models since every child's learning style is different. We have Joy Zhao, a bilingual teacher from New Jersey. Welcome, Joy. It's great to have you back again. Joy: Thank you. Ginger: So, from your experiences, let's say, when one out of five children, there has to be one that you have to give more time to. How do you manage to do this? Joy: Effective teachers do recognize individual and group differences among their students. For example, I use step-by-step or scaffolding approaches to instruction that allows students to work at their own pace and receive help that they need. And for gifted learners, I challenge them to move from mastery of concept to investigation and applications. It's also important to keep in mind that we have many resources out there to help our students. That may include school specialists, family members, tutors, and community volunteers. Ginger: Well it's a good thing you mentioned community volunteers, because we'll take a short break and let's go see in the first segment how our volunteers have been handling it. In our next segment, Footprints, we meet Penny Hsu, who had thought no one could love working children as much as she did until she joined Tzu Chi's education team and discovered that Tzu Chi volunteers shared just the same ...
