The world-renowned horn-driven funk outfit has been issuing albums and touring the world steadily since the early 70's when the album Bump City lit the fuse to a string of classic hit releases, including "What Is Hip?", Back to Oakland, Urban Renewal and In the Slot, Ain't Nothin' Stoppin' Us Now, Live and in Living Color as well as backing up a host of superstars including Elton John, Santana, Bonnie Raitt, Huey Lewis, Little Feat, David Sanborn, Michelle Shocked, Paula Abdul, Aaron Neville, Aerosmith, Michael Bolton, Billy Preston, PiL, Rod Stewart and Toto. After the death of founding member and bassist Allen Woody, Gov't Mule began recording tracks using bass players that Woody had admired. Originally, there was to be one disc, but so many wanted to be part of the sessions that over 160 minutes of music was recorded. At this point, the remaining members Warren Haynes and Matt Abts decided to split the project into two releases. The Deep End, Volume 2, issued in 2002, was the harder sounding of the two releases (The Deep End, Volume 1 had been released a year earlier), although it also featured country and jazz tracks as well. I just learned it today so it may be a bit messy but I really wanted to upload it. I'm playing the chorus in the way Rocco plays it live (or something like that) which is different from the album version I'm playing over. I chose to play it that way because I like that way more and that's the way I'm going to be playing it with the Band. Anyway I hope you guys like it!
