The Microsoft Sound composed by Brian Eno. In 1994 Microsoft corporation designers Mark Malamud and Erik Gavriluk approached Brian Eno to compose music for the Windows 95 project. The result was the six-second start-up music-sound of the Windows 95 operating system, The Microsoft Sound (.wav). In the San Francisco Chronicle he said: "The idea came up at the time when I was completely bereft of ideas. I'd been working on my own music for a while and was quite lost, actually. And I really appreciated someone coming along and saying, "Here's a specific problem — solve it." The thing from the agency said, "We want a piece of music that is inspiring, universal, blah- blah, da-da-da, optimistic, futuristic, sentimental, emotional," this whole list of adjectives, and then at the bottom it said "and it must be 31/4 seconds long." I thought this was so funny and an amazing thought to actually try to make a little piece of music. It's like making a tiny little jewel. In fact, I made 84 pieces. I got completely into this world of tiny, tiny little pieces of music. I was so sensitive to microseconds at the end of this that it really broke a logjam in my own work. Then when I'd finished that and I went back to working with pieces that were like three minutes long, it seemed like oceans of time. In case if you haven't heard, someone decided to port Dosbox to the iPhone, and I decided to try to run Windows 95 in it. True Facts: -iDOS was pulled from the App Store within 24 hours for two reasons. One: It included the games Ms. Pacman and Dig Dug, which both sell in the App Store. Two: You could mount the iPhone filesystem from within iDOS. -This was recorded using a combination of Veency (VNC server for iPhone) and Camtasia -The PC speaker is emulated as well -iDOS isn't the first x86 emulator to be ported to the iPhone. Bochs was ported several months ago, but lacked a keyboard and right-clicking

QEMU is a Emulator that will allow you to run a Windows 95 on a HTC HD2 Phone. The Sporty 1Ghz Snapdragon is fast enought but dont expect a OS Replacement here. Its something to play around with nothing more and nothing less. But since the HD2 runs WM6.5, Android, and Win95 (in a Emulator) all on top of the great EnergyROMS its just simply the most versatile Device that on the market right now. It might even get a unofficial WP7 ROM. Either way WM 6.5 and Android Run great. Oh and any Playstation 1 Game will also run on it the HD2. Pleanty of entertainment. But also serious Business. Update: Pinch2Zoom can be enabled in BSB Tweaks to zoom in and there is a keyboard replacement to have a larger keyboard on the HD2. All Information can be found in the XDA-Developers Forum.

Press 'Create a new hard disk'. 3. Press 'Next'. 4. Press 'Create a Virtual Machine'. 5. Press 'Next'. 6. Name it 'Windows 95' 7. Press 'Next'. 8. Press 'Next'. 9. Press 'Next'. 10. Press 'Next'. 11. Browse for the location that you saved my Virtual Hard disk in. 12. Press 'Next'. 13. Press 'Finish'. Information about Virtual PC: 1. If you close it by the 'X' sometimes Windows 95/98 will ask you what you want to do since the Virtual Machine wasn't shut down correctly. 2. The Windows 95/98 will sometimes ask if you want to run scan disk. This is normal. Just run it. 3. Create a new folder on the desktop named "and now, the moment you've all been waiting for". 2. Rename the folder to "we proudly present for your viewing pleasure". 3. Again, rename the folder to "The Microsoft Windows 95 Product Team!". 4. Double click the folder and enjoy! *NOTE* The actual roll is much longer, but limitations keep me from uploading the whole thing. Try it for yourselves!
