Paul McCartney - Off The Ground: Winedark Open Sea

Off the Ground is an album by Paul McCartney, released in 1993. As his first studio album of the 1990s, it is also the follow-up to the acclaimed Flowers in the Dirt from 1989, and bears many similarities with its predecessor. Recording and structure When the sessions for the album began in the fall of 1991, McCartney decided to use his current touring band as session musicians, most of whom had already appeared on Flowers In The Dirt.[citation needed] In addition, "Mistress And Maid" and "The Lovers That Never Were", which emerged from his songwriting collaboration with Elvis Costello, made their appearance on this album. Unlike Flowers In The Dirt, however, Costello would not appear on Off the Ground. One of the main differences between Flowers In The Dirt and Off The Ground is the leaner, more direct sound. With the musicians sounding less studied than they had on the previous release, Off The Ground has a relaxed, natural feel by comparison. Another change is McCartney's increased interest in social issues, be it the scathing anti-animal cruelty rocker "Looking For Changes" (McCartney and his wife Linda long-time vegetarians by this time) or paeans for a better world ("Hope Of Deliverance" and "C'Mon People"). Release The lead single, "Hope Of Deliverance", was released in the last week of December 1992 and the album followed in February 1993. While Off The Ground hit #5 in the UK and reached #17 in the US, where it eventually went gold, it was the first Paul ...

Blood escaping man - State Radio (acoustic)

"BLOOD ESCAPING MAN" From the new album "LET IT GO" performed by State Radio Closer she smiled telling me not to worry I said I didn't know and I don't now But I won't let you fall if you come down Oh she was waiting On the wine dark sea with skinny lips of salt she said Better to give to thee Then to all the senators in the hall And we oh oh oh for knowing all That I never knew Oh oh oh for knowing all That I never knew Well the suitors they're complaining it's a bitter taste of man I seen them eating and drinking and vying for her hand I seen her walking too up the widows walk I tell her to keep it on I tell her don't give up Cause i swear that he's coming, just wait a little more time See there's been a dead reckoning with the government Though they seem to know their plan They're drawing all their lots to see who's the better man And then the winner come and grabs her in stride takes her to bed and makes, makes her their bride But i reckon he gonna come home and see you making it with his wife I seen the blood escaping man But do not overlook him if you can I seen the blood escaping man But do not overlook him In your heart she holds the candle that guides her through the night She came to me in secret and whispered out first light I said please mad-ame for all your beauty its not me you want I saw a bum in town whose body it leaves no blood today as the suitors come there's a ragged bagger behind Id love to be your lover but there's a ragged bagger behind I seen the ...

SUZANNE CIANI - FOR LISE

This title is taken from Suzanne Ciani´s album, "Silver Ship" (2005 / USA) Suzanne Ciani (born July 4, 1946) is an Italian American pianist and music composer who found early success with innovative electronic music. en.wikipedia.org Official Website: www.sevwave.com Silver Ship is Suzanne Ciani's first album of all-new material since 1999's Turning LP. And like that album, it's a tasteful, often joyful blend of acoustic and electronic instruments, buoyed throughout by Ciani's innate melodic sense. The composer and keyboardist also works with some familiar collaborators, including flutist Matt Eakle, Paul McCandless on reeds, cellist Joe Hébert, guitarist Teja Bell, and bassist Michael Manring. As her earliest releases prove, it's always been Ciani's intention to craft durable songs. That approach elevates her work above the homogeneity that permeates the contemporary instrumental and new age genres at their lowest ebb, and it's no different with Silver Ship. "Sargasso Sea" is a duet between Ciani's piano and the sad-eyed and graceful cello of Hébert, while "Eclipse" perfectly balances solitary contemplation with waves of surging emotion. Not surprisingly, "Open Seas" incorporates some artificially generated ocean swells beneath Eakle's airy flute leads, while opener "For Lise" features one of Ciani's classic melodies -- plaintive, powerfully hopeful, and softly whispered all at once. Silver Ship also takes a few detours, adding percussion and prominent solos from Bell ...

Fallout: New Vegas (Gameplay #17)

The White Gloves Society is a veritable bastion of good manners and refined taste, shining like a beacon of hope in that wine-dark sea of depravity and sheer barbarism that is post-nuclear Vegas. There's only one tiny little problem with this splendid organization - they eat human flesh... Much like in Fallout 3, many of the larger indoor environments in New Vegas are repetitive, sparsely decorated and dimly lit, but at least this time around there are some notable exceptions such as the casino where the White Gloves hang out and dine on each other. The humorous side quest involving this morally compromised society of elitists is a lot of fun and includes excellent dialogue and an interestingly complex structure which allows for a lot of freedom. I sadly screwed up a bit and didn't get the best, most "complete" ending but the XP reward turned out to be pretty sizeable anyway.

Pablo Neruda - La noche en la isla

All night I have slept with you next to the sea, on the island. Wild and sweet you were between pleasure and sleep, between fire and water. Perhaps very late our dreams joined at the top or at the bottom, Up above like branches moved by a common wind, down below like red roots that touch. Perhaps your dream drifted from mine and through the dark sea was seeking me as before, when you did not yet exist, when without sighting you I sailed by your side, and your eyes sought what now-- bread, wine, love, and anger-- I heap upon you because you are the cup that was waiting for the gifts of my life. I have slept with you all night long while the dark earth spins with the living and the dead, and on waking suddenly in the midst of the shadow my arm encircled your waist. Neither night nor sleep could separate us. I have slept with you and on waking, your mouth, come from your dream, gave me the taste of earth, of sea water, of seaweed, of the depths of your life, and I received your kiss moistened by the dawn as if it came to me from the sea that surrounds us.
