Solidarity with West Papua, Poland 21 october 2011 Warsaw

The incorporation process of West Papua into the Republic of Indonesia (between 1963-1969) was conducted in violation of international norms and law by the then governments of Indonesia, the US, Holland, and the United Nations. In order to eliminate the mistakes of the past, the present-day government of Indonesia shall start the dialogue with the representatives of indigenous communities and call a new referendum in which Papuans will be able to determine possible independence of their aboriginal territory independently and without fear.
