this gen1 xmod is the most home custom rc car i own. i wanted to make it as home made as i could. its more of a experimental car not just with market and aftermarket parts but with features made out of my ideas that work! please comment what you think.

Well guys, YouTube disabled my audio on this video and after having 5 of my best videos get their audio disabled due to copyright by WMG...I really don't feel like making any more videos. Disturbed can lick my sack and YouTube can get a pair of nuts and let media be free instead of every video having a copyright issue. Here is what happens when you use about the voltage that comes out of your standard outlet in your house...on an Xmod motor (but obviously not nearly the same amperage as an outlet). Old news: I tried to make a sequel but it didn't go so well... ANOTHER UPDATE: It has come to my attention that a few people are saying things like: -I wired this setup in series, making it have just a high amp rating and still being 9-10V. -"I tried putting the cells together like you did, and it only increased 1-2 volts per battery that I added to the setup." -You wired them in parallel. False, false, and false. I wired them in SERIES, ie: + to - to + to - ...etc. It is sometimes only +8.5V per battery because this setup will drain out some 9Vs in the circuit just because it puts a lot of strain on its low quality cells, and also not all 9V batteries are exactly 9Vs.

READ THE DESCRIPTION FIRST!!!! This is the tutorial for the Generation 1 Xmod and a how-to on swapping out the board. It is very basic, and provides a huge boost in performance for an xmod. However there are somethings to note about this mod. It is body specific, and if you watch the whole thing, some bodies that do not fit with the board mounted perpendicular to the chassis are: -NSX -350z -370z -Skyline -Corvette BUT in a later update, I will move the board in a different position so that it will fit more bodies. Materials list: -Team Losi 2Ch remote from Micro-T/ Micro Baja -Team Losi ESC/Receiver from Micro-T/ Micro Baja -Team Losi Servo from Micro-T/ Micro Baja -Generation 1 Xmods chassis with all wheel drive -Side Cutters -Wire Strippers -15 watt soldering iron with rosin core silver bearing solder (0.022 diameter) -Heat shrink (optional) -18 gauge and 20 gauge copper wire -130 size motor (Xmods or Mini-z sized motor) -Crystal Set (Xmods, Mini-Z or Micro-T all work) -Xmods Rear top deck -3M double sided foam tape OR 3M double sided outdoor tape(stronger and more permanent) Estimates for how much the Team Losi parts cost: Team Losi Controller $15~$40 Team Losi Micro-T board $25~38 Team Losi Micro-T servo $8~12 Estimated total cost for all parts for the mod are from $35~60 to do the mod, and its worth it!! If anyone is curious of how to make their car drift, here is a tutorial i wrote up. *edit* i've come to notice that other drift vids of this nature are generally on a track, i was just screwing around in my back yard. for the few attempts i made at actually drifting around an obstacle... i failed at maintaining exit speed. keep in mind when you're setting up your gen 1 xmod, that torque is a powerful ally when it comes to drifting performance. *edit* xmodrc.yuku.com I use the exact setup I describe in the tut, with the "little extras" that I also mentioned. Since I got some chaff from my previous video of STOCK evo xmod drifting, I decided to make another using a friends car. Sure it isn't my best work, but its good enough.

This is my first video of me drifting my custom xmod, the X-waver. It has an I-waver PCB and I am using the Kyosho Perfex KT-5 that comes with a stock mini-z for the controller. Here is the complete list of mods: I-waver board with 4562 FETs I-waver servo motor new Potentiometer Stage 1 motor (for balance, not too much power) AWD GPM drivetrain except the Rear diff.(stock) and front diff is locked to work properly without slipping Shielded bearings Lowering arms GPM front knuckles Red springs all around Mini Z AWD Rims with Atomic 8.5mm Drift Tires (O offset narrow front and rear) 4.5 degree tie rod wheel shims And the song is called "Pride" by High and Mighty Color. PS The drift through the stepping chair was actually the hardest drift of the whole video lol it was just short and sweet :) Thanks for watching!!

***READ THE DESCRIPTION*** This is my quick drifting tutorial for xmods. Here's a setup list that you need to start drifting right out of the box: -All wheel drive -Drift tires (Radioshack or Aftermarket ones) -Stage 1 motor w/stock gearing or 8-25 gearing** **Depending on the surface, you want to use either a Stage 1 or a Stage 2. If you are drifting on carpet, use the Stage 2 to get more power. Also for drifting on concrete or just outside, use the Stage 2 and Aftermarket drifting tires. The RadioShack tires will wear out very quickly and you'll end up burning them down to the bare rim. I ended up doing that... Optional parts for Gen 1: This is pretty much the same as the Evo chassis. The only thing you can change is the battery height. You can cut off the mounts on the chassis and the battery holders. Then you can mount the batteries lower with glue. Remember to test it with the springs in so you can get the most compression out of your springs. Don't mount it so low that the springs can't compress. Optional parts for Evo: Suspension -Lowering arms for both front and rear. It stiffens the suspension and lowers the car. If you are using the Radioshack tires, this may be too low and the car will scrape/drag, so if it does, just use the stock setting. Spring settings: I've used a ton of combos, but these are some that you can use as a drift setup -Blue springs in front, Red in the rear. This the setup that will allow you to get in a drift the fastest. Its hard to maintain <b>...</b>

Me and some friends built a track in my dining room, and recorded a few laps... The orange vette with the black rear end is Doughbrick, his modifications are graphite/oiled differential/bearings The silver alpine star GTR is Wes, he has aftermarket soft tredded tires, worn smooth, and oiled bearings The plain silver GTR is Steve, no modifications The plain orange vette is Travis, no modifications. (this car started as an audi R8 and was converted to the vette) The red 370Z is Matt, no modifications The dark grey Lancer EVO is me..Cody, i have aftermarket soft slick tires, locked differential, bodykit, spacers in the rear, and im using goo-gone for tire compound rather than the name brand kind. The camera operator is my wife Lindsey. Everyone is using a tire softening compound, found at most RC hobbyshops. The track was made with a few cardboard boxes, some orange cones from walmart, and some cardboard protectors for pallets, i got from work. Oh yeah, and quite a bit of tape and alot of time... If you make a track of your own, be sure to wipe the floor well with alcohol and papertowels... thats the biggest modification you can make.

This was a race we sponsored and we were there all weekend, doing educational workshops, tuning tips and just hanging out with the racers. They use XMODS in the classroom to teach science, electronics, mechanics, and physics so they were very knowledgeable and very into the XMODS racing scene. We decided to allow one of the racers to drive Rob's Nevada in the Modified classes. We didn't want to just pick someone because that seemed unfair, so we had a qualifying race among the top drivers and this is it.
