ZVex Fuzz Factory

www.ProGuitarShop.com-The ZVex Fuzz Factory is one of the earliest pedals invented by Zachary Vex, Mr. Zvex, and continues to be his most popular. It is the heir to the throne of the classic Germanium fuzz boxes of the past, even using New Old Stock Germanium transistors from the sixties. From this basic concept Mr. ZVex went nuts and added an unheard of level of control over all aspects of the tone, including a Gate knob to control noise and tune feedback pitch, Compression control, and a Stability (or "Stab") knob that can send the Zvex Fuzz Factory into delicious squeals and oscillations, opening up a pallete of fresh sounds for any adventurous guitar lunatic. The controls are highly interactive and encourage hours of sonic exploration. The Zvex Fuzz Factory also features a Green On OFF LED, 9VDC power jack, Lifetime Warranty, and original hand-painted graphics. Each one is totally handmade and unique! A Few Famous Zvex Fuzz Factory Manglers Include: * Nels Cline of Wilco * Matthew Bellamy of Muse * Robert Fripp * Steven Drozd and Wayne Coyne of The Flaming Lips * John Frusciante of The Red Hot Chili Peppers * Trent Reznor * David Torn * J. ZVex Vextron Distortron

www.ProGuitarShop.com - ZVex Vextron Distortron The all new ZVex Vextron Distortron pedal is finally here. If you have been dreaming of buying your first (or maybe fifth) ZVex pedal but could not gather up the cash, this new series of lower priced pedals might just be the ticket. The new ZVex Vextron Distortron features simpler graphics than you have come to expect, but the sounds are pure stompbox heaven compliments of Zachary Vex. The ZVex Vextron Distortion features the same distortion circuit as the Box of Rock with the addition of a gain boost switch and a sub frequency control switch. If you have been wanting the sound of a Marshall JTM45 non-master volume cranked up but haven't been in a position to spend $2000, the ZVex Vextron Distortron could just make your dreams come true. The knobs are self explanatory and control Volume, Tone and Drive. The sub switch adds increasing amounts of sub from 1 to 3. When switched to 3, the ZVex Vextron Distortron has the same sub level as the Box of Rock. The Lo setting on the gain switch gives you the same gain as the Box of Rock, while the Hi setting gives you increased gain. This is a bulletproof pedal at a great price. Check out the new ZVex Vextron Distortron today. ZVex Vextron Distortion features: * Painted Box * Single layer silk-screened graphics * Black 3pdt switch * Knobs: Volume, Tone and Drive * Switches: Subs and Gain * Powered by 9volt battery or 9v DC negative tip (Boss Type) power adapter
ZVex Mastotron Fuzz

www.ProGuitarShop.com - ZVex Vextron Mastotron fuzz One of two new budget minded pedals unveiled during the 2009 NAMM show, the new ZVex Vextron Mastotron is here and the fuzz world may never be the same. Equally capable of providing fuzzy goodness for guitar, bass, keyboards or even digital recorders, this bad boy can be enjoyed by the whole family. The new ZVex Vextron Distortion features simpler graphics than you have come to expect, but the sounds are pure fuzz heaven. The ZVex Vextron Mastotron fuzz is based on a heavy silicon fuzz design using a 2N2222 transistor ala Jimi Hendrix. Zachary Vex says it has a bumble bee quality that stays solid for all settings. Knobs on the fuzzy little fellow are Volume, Tone, Pulse Width, Fuzz and Relax/Push. The Pulse Width knob allows you to change the wave form from square wave to narrow pulse waves and everything in between. The Relax/Push knob adds source impedance to the signal that enters the pedal. This allows the ZVex Vextron Mastotron to soften the input being sent by active pickups to maximize the fuzz effect and to adjust how the pedal reacts to how you play. There is also a Subs Switch that lets you dictate how much sub content is added to the signal. If you have been searching for a fuzz that allows the complete control over wave shape, sustain, attack, decay and texture of the fuzz, the ZVex Vextron Mastotron might be the ticket. ZVex Lo-Fi Loop Junky

www.ProGuitarShop.com-The Z.Vex Lo-Fi Loop Junky is the antithesis to the modern digital looper pedal. It's all analog, with no A-to-D Conversion of any kind, it samples for up to 20 seconds, and everything you record into it will sound totally different coming out the other end. It features lots of hiss, noise, distortion, and other analog artifacts and is capable of making your little guitar loop sound like a scratched, warbly old record. The Lo-Fi Loop junky does feature a very transparent guitar preamp built in to preserve your direct tone, and a velvety, smooth compression for nice organ-esque tones. It also has a built-in Vibrato with Speed and Depth control knobs for making warped record sounds or for imparting a chorused, Leslie rotating speaker style tone to your loops. There is also a tone knob to roll off any unwanted hiss or to add warmth to your loop, but since the this pedal has a very limited frequency response (nothing above 2.6Khz) too much treble shouldn't be a huge problem. The Loop Junky has a simple LED status indicator that lights up solid while recording, blinks once at the end of every loop, and stops completely in bypass mode. In the interest of tone preservation the Lo-Fi Loop Junky does feature True Bypass switching just like all other ZVex pedals. The ZVex Lo-Fi Loop Junky pedal is super simple to operate, with five obvious knob controls, an on/off stomp switch, a record stomp switch, and a tiny save switch in the upper right-hand corner to <b>...</b>

ZVex Seek Wah

www.ProGuitarShop.com-The Z.Vex Seek Wah II is a true anomaly in the world of guitar pedals. It is unlike any pedal you will ever use, sounding sort of like a deviant hybrid of a tremolo and a wah pedal. The Seek Wah II contains a 60's wah pedal inductor controlled by an analog sequencer, with up to eight separate steps available, controlled by eight separate knobs, and separate speed control to match the tempo of the song. There is also a tiny three-way switch so the user can choose between 4, 6, or 8 steps in the sequence. The on/off switch is True Bypass, like all other ZVex pedals. Each of the 8 mini-knobs is notched, allowing you to determine its setting by feel and also by relative brightness of the tone. Each of these 8 tiny knoblets also has a corresponding LED to let you know where the pedal is at in the sequence, to show you the tempo of the sequence, and to blow your mind with a hypnotic, undulating light show. The ZVex Seek Wah II is handmade and hand-painted in Minneapolis, Minnesota with the highest quality components. It is True Bypass and is utterly silent in operation, with no hiss, hum, or ticking noises. Each one is unique and slightly different, and each Seek Wah is warranted to be free from manufacturing defects for as long as Zachary Vex is on the planet.
ZVex Jonny Octave

www.ProGuitarShop.com- Overview: The Jonny Octave is an octave-up pedal designed to raise the apparent pitch of single notes on your guitar by one or two octaves. The controls are, from left to right, Octave 2 Volume and Octave 1 Volume. The two switches are, from left to right, Octave 1/Octave 2 selector switch and True Bypass switch. There are also trim pots on the inside for gain stage control which are explained in detail later in this manual. Operation: Plug your guitar into the right-hand input jack. Plug the output into your other effects or your amp. Switch your guitar to the neck (rhythm) pickup and turn it up. Turn on the pedal with the right switch and click the left switch until the yellow LED is on. Turn up the volumes for both octaves to the middle. Play a note at the 12th fret and listen for the octave-up sound... compare with the bypassed sound. Now select the red LED and listen to the 2nd Octave up sound, and compare with 1 Octave up. You might try playing double stops or a lower open string with a high (12th fret area) fifth or third harmony on a neighboring string and enjoy the sub-frequencies generated by the ring-mod action. This is most apparent with the one octave setting.
Z Vex Effects guitar pedals roundup

This is a brief roundup of almost all Z Vex pedals (by Mr. Vex himself) taken from the NAMM exhibition at 2006 by gearwire.com. Mr. Vex keeps his usual humour and good mood (I love that!) despite the fatigue of the show... My favourite, of course, is the Wah. Beautiful handcrafted (and handpainted, too!) pedals, but some of them a bit overpriced in my opinion. To Mr. Vex's immense credit, they are really advanced in terms of electronic design, and not a copy of anything else (a refreshing move in today's world of pedal clones). Described by some snobbish people as "gimmicks", it is true that some of them are too strange for more than one song, and sometimes unpredictable to get a constant sound from, but sometimes today's music desperately needs to be less predictable... Of course, there are the "normal" ones such as the Box Of Rock, the Super Duper etc. but most of them are completely crazy! Oh, and by the way, my all time favourite fuzz for my electric guitar would be the Woolly Mammoth - a fuzz initially designed for bass - if it didn't sound so muffled and so uncontrollable. In reality, it sounds much different than the wonderful clip at www.youtube.com . UPDATE: My snobbish attitude towards the Fuzz Factory is... gone! I am now the proud owner of one. Strange really, because I had played with it a lot before, and never really liked it. It doesn't do everything, but has the advantage of instant wall-of-fuzz tone on a clean amp (think Fu Manchu, Smashing Pumpkins <b>...</b>

ZVex Super Duper 2-in-1 Boost Pedal

www.ProGuitarShop.com - ZVex Super Duper 2-In-1 Boost / Overdrive Pedal Gentlemen/women, start your engines. This pedal is so dangerous that I'm sure I'll be getting a lot of complaint emails that people have blown up their amps using it. So let's just start this off by saying I WARNED YOU TO BE CAREFUL. When using this pedal, start off slow, and monitor your amp for potential damage. Don't have too much fun! OK, have too much fun, but don't blow up your amp in the process. Unless that's what you want, of course, and well, gosh darn it, it's your right. Good ol' Pete Townsend did it. Well, at least he poked his speakers out. All right, I'll try to stay on track here. Ahem. The SUPER-DUPER 2-IN-1 (TM) has two of my infamous but rather delightful Super Hard-On(TM) pedals in one small box, with two switches and LED indicators. HEY! I responded to your multitude of complaints that I don't put in LED's! Also, in this SUPER-DUPER 2-IN-1 (TM) (gosh I love saying that) is a Master volume control that lets you use it as an overdrive/distortion with any output volume. My my! How conventional, you say! Well, suffice to say, if it weren't there, you'd go deaf with both of those channels cranked up. This pedal is dangerously loud. Don't do what I did, and lean over in front of your speaker cabinet while turning it up. Ouch. Dang. www.proguitarshop.com
ZVex Tremorama

www.ProGuitarShop.com-The ZVex Tremorama Tremolo Pedal is much like the Seek-Trem, only with the addition of a random mode switch that gives you a cool, bad-cable-cutting-out kind of sound. Crazy analog tremolo fun for the whole family! Garaunteed you've never heard a Tremolo like this. Set up like a step-sequencer, the ZVex Tremorama continues the legacy of completely off-the-wall effects and sonic mayhem that made Z.Vex famous. Plug your guitar (or any effect's output) into the right hand input jack. Plug the output into an amp or other effect's input. If the LEDs are not blinking, the Tremorama is bypassed. When bypassed, it sits and waits at sequencer step number 1 until you turn it on... then it starts in time at the present tempo and steps through each volume setting in series. In this way you can set up a sequence of different guitar volumes that create a rhythmic pattern which matches your performance or a series of volumes that sound like a swell or even echoes. For example, to create an echo-like setting, turn on the Tremorama and set the "spd" knob to a reasonable tempo and turn all of the sequencer knobs fully clockwise except for the first one. For hard tremolo, leave step 2 off, then set step 3 so it's noticeably quieter than step 1. Next, leave step 4 off, and turn step 5 until it's noticeably quieter than step 3. Step 6 stays off, step 7 is set to be quieter than step 5, and step 8 is also off. Now, when you turn it on, you get a series of tremolo pulses <b>...</b>

ZVex Vexter Super Hard On

This is the ZVex Vexter Super Hard On. This unique boost is based on a classic 60's recording console input, with a negative feedback control that crackles when turned, hence the "crackle ok". The extremely high 5 million ohm input impedance of the ZVex Vexter Super Hard On makes it great for adding clarity and life to dull-sounding pickups when used at the lowest gain setting. At higher gain settings it will absolutely punish the front end of your tube amp, resulting in thick, molten overdrive tones. The Zvex Vexter Super Hard On also features dual outputs, for use with dual amplifiers, and rugged True Bypass contruction to keep your cleans pristine. The Zvex Vexter SHO is exactly the same circuit and construction as the hand-painted version, but with silk-screened graphics to save you some bucks. proguitarshop.com
ZVex Machine

www.ProGuitarShop.com-The ZVex Machine is a unique animal in a world of dime-a-dozen fuzz and distortion pedals. Zachary Vex invented the Machine specifically to be used in conjunction with other fuzz and distortion pedals. Have you ever ran two distortion boxes together, or ran a fuzz box into an already-distorted amp? Often times cool results are had, but you frequently lose detail and tonal qualities and end up with something less than what you were hoping for. The Machine exists to cure that problem. With the Z.Vex Machine for the first time in history crossover distortion was built into a guitar pedal circuit. The net effect of this design, without getting too deeply into electronics geekery, is that while your guitar signal is traveling from pickups to speaker there are spots where normally not much is going on. It is in these parts of the signal path that Machine does its thing, generating distortion in the sloped parts of the wave rather than in the peaks and valleys like standard issue stompbox guitar distorters. Hence, it is extremely complimentary when used in conjunction with your other favorite pedals. The Machine is basically a hideous sounding pedal on its own, so to achieve the intended effect you will need to use it before other fuzz boxes. The Machine prefers to see an undistorted guitar signal at its input. Once you plug it in you may never go back. This thing cuts like nobody's business, making your other pedals come to life. Use it with a tremolo <b>...</b>

ZVEX - RingTone

KAYZER PEDAL DEMO - 30 Pedals in 30 Days - Day 16 - ZVEX - Ringtone The Ringtone from ZVEX is in my opinion an underrated aswell as miss understood pedal when i see recent youtube demos. Mostly used for random noise, sold on ebay and whatnot! I also count to these guys since i needed a year do discover its full potential... BUT when tweaked right it can cover Goatkeeper territory with sequenced Tremolo sounds, do arpeggiator stuff on higher ring mod pitch settings, has tap tempo, it also does the standard ring mod sounds pretty good and offers normal tremolo and on top it can still do all the noises ;-) I had the best sound results with single coils most of my humbuckers distorted more than usual with the Ringtone... Check it, Electro Sequencing VS ambient sequence trem sounds, epic is epic ;-) www.facebook.com www.zvex.com

Zvex Ringtone

Zvex Ringtone The Ringtone by Z.Vex Effects is the world's first dedicated sequenced ring modulator for guitar use. Controls: The controls are as follows: from the upper left, there is a run/step switch to select sequence/random operation or manual stepping operation, a speed control for the sequence/random mode, 8 individual carrier pitch adjustment knobs, the sequence/random stomp switch which doubles as a manual step control, and the true-bypass stomp switch on the right. Also, inside there is a trim-pot adjustment to set the mix of ring-modulated sound versus direct guitar... when shipped from the factory, this is mix is set for pure ring-modulation. Setup: The way I've set up the Ringtone in the setup video on the zvex.com website is as follows: Set the upper left switch to "S" for step mode. Switch the bypass stomp switch to on, so that ring modulation begins. Turn the first carrier knob (with the illuminated led) to a pitch which matches your first chord or note selection on the guitar and gives a pleasing tone. The pitch of the carrier is lower to the right, with the extreme setting resulting in tremolo-like pulsing. Push the left stomp switch to advance to the next carrier knob and repeat the process until you have prepared all of the carrier knobs to pitches which work with your chord or note progression. For sequenced operation, set the small upper left switch to the left for Run mode, and adjust the speed knob next to it for the proper speed. The left stomp <b>...</b>

ZVex Seek Trem

www.ProGuitarShop.com-The Seek-Trem is an eight-stage sequencer-controlled tremolo pedal. The controls are, from left to right, 4/8/6 step selector switch, speed (tempo), and 8 sequencer volume controls. All of the controls work in the opposite direction from conventional because the pots are smoother this way. This means you have to turn them to the left to make them louder, or in the case of the speed control, to make it faster. There is also a true-bypass stomp switch which causes the sequencer to "halt" and wait at step number 1 until the pedal is turned back on. Plug your guitar (or any effect's output) into the right hand input jack. Plug the output into an amp or other effect's input. If the leds are not blinking, the pedal is bypassed. When bypassed, it sits and waits at sequencer step number 1 until you turn it on... then it starts in time at the present tempo and steps through each volume setting in series. In this way you can set up a sequence of different guitar volumes that create a rhythmic pattern which matches your performance or a series of volumes that sound like a swell or even echos. For example, to create an echo-like setting, turn on the Seek-Trem and set the "spd" knob to a reasonable tempo and turn all of the sequencer knobs fully clockwise except for the first one. for hard tremolo, leave step 2 off, then set step 3 so it's noticably quieter than step 1. ZVex Octane 3

www.ProGuitarShop.com-Remember the late sixties? Jimi turning everyone on to wild fuzz stuff? Maybe not. But you don't have to be old enough to be a hippie to get off on the ZVex Octane 3. The Octane 3 circuit uses a combination of germanium diode and transistor fuzz generation and a ring modulator to turn simple chords into nutso note combinations and complex chords into incredible noise...and makes solos soar impossibly high. The upper register high octave can make ears bleed if given the chance, but also gives your solos something more than just screeching highs. The ring modulator is smooth and creamy instead of robotic, allowing the Octane 3 to produce true octaves and complex overtones instead of noise (but it does that really well too). The ZVex Octane 3 will take you back to the days when noise was king and guitars on fire were worth the price of admission. IN: Far right knob controls input (drive) level. Use just enough for fun but not too much if you need less noise during quiet spots. OUT: Output level is on the left Watch out when you turn it up. TONE: Turn to right for mid scoop tone ( mellow)...to left for more mids (aggressive). HINTS: Use simple chords...three notes if possible... or limit voicing to octaves and fifths. This way you let the pedal generate thirds and control the color of the chords. For solos, play at the twelfth fret (double dot) or higher, using the rhythm pickup. This gives you the purest upper octave result with any brand of high <b>...</b>
The Vexter Series Fuzz Probe by Zvex Effects Demo- Fuzz Factory meets a Theremin

Watch in HD for best sound (My favorite setting is at the 5:23 minute mark) www.zvex.com and http I had to give you this line that Zvex put up on their site.... Congratulations, you must be insane. Even I don't know how to use this pedal. It certainly is one of the crazier pedals I have had the pleasure of plugging up. You are basically getting a Zvex Fuzz Factory with an Antenna Plate mounted on plexi glass. The antenna creates a radio frequency field around the plate, which can then be manipulated with your foot or hand or whatever other appendage you want to put near it. The plate is connected to the Stability knob.... so, the probe will adjust the Stab knob from wherever it is set, upward toward the most clockwise position as you get closer to the antenna. So, you will get more modulations the lower you set the Stab knob. If you turn the Stab knob all the way up, you won't get anything when you move your foot toward the plate. Now, I think Zvex is underrating himself when he says you're insane for grabbing one of these :) This pedal can actually be quite musical. The fourth setting I put the pedal on gives you something that sounds like a cross between a Wah and a Phaser. It definitely does not modulate your tone just like either of those pedals, but it does sound awfully damn similar. And even if it wasn't musical, what guitarist doesn't just love to make some crazy, ear piercing noise on stage from time to time? Look at Matt Bellamy of Muse.... he has a fuzz factory <b>...</b>
